Make Your Own Browser - January 2010
Make Your Own Browser lets you create the browser you want.
To help you create your browser, you have the Profile Generator and the Icon Changer.
The Profile Generator lets you change your browser user interface, its default behavior, its links, and its text.
The Icon Changer will PERMANENTLY change your browser icon to the one you want.
With these tools, you can build your browser easier than ever!
Auto-update.
Each browser you build lets your users download updates in just 1 click. You decide what files can be downloaded and where they are hosted.
Popup Blocker.
Your browser will have an easy-to-use pop-up blocker so you can make browsing safe and simple.
Search Bar.
You get two search toolbars. You decide which to show, so show both, only one, or none at all. Use it for your own custom search (for affiliate marketing or contextual advertising).
No nag windows.
You won't see repeated windows asking you to open this, close that, check this, or stop that. All the controls are in front of your user. Many features are not hidden under multiple menus and multi-page dialog windows.
Auto-login.
This is a basic password filler to give your users a break on remembering a multitude of username/password combinations. A simple Add Login button appears when you login. If you want to save, push the button, if not, ignore it.
July 2009.
This version is not a critical release. If you would like some feature from the July 2009 version (such as upgraded session log or sponsor toolbar) with a feature from this version (such as the new search feature), simply send a request by email or the forum.
The July 2009 version of Make your own browser is the most stable, fastest, and feature-filled version yet. It fixes a number of persistent memory issues that caused sluggish performance when too many tabs were open (or when the session log got too long).
These memory problems have been fixed (or at least, greatly improved). Plus, auto-logins have been improved. You now get to decide whether you want to save a log-in or not. AND... they are now ENCRYPTED by default!
With the improvements in memory come SPEED! While only opening a few tabs won't show any difference, as you browse longer and open more tabs, you'll notice a real improvement over previous versions. This is why it is strongly recommended to upgrade to the July 2009 version (or later).
How do you make a browser?
You may ask yourself, "I don't know how to write software, so how can I make my own web browser?" Well, the simple answer is you do not have to be a programmer to have your own web browser.
Once you download make your own browser, create your browser using the online tools on this website. As you become better at it, you can further customize your software by changing its text files which contain its settings. Don't worry, there is no complicated code in there. It should take only a few minutes to create a browser. Of course, this depends on how much you want to change.
